Q:
How do I know what overall length my Stik should be? What is the RIGHT size?
A:First of all... overall length is a personal preference... Based upon the industry standard the information below is ONLY A GUIDE!
Many customers like different lengths so PLEASE be sure to order YOUR PREFERED LENGTH.
We CANNOT be responsible for inaccuracies in ordered lengths!
Remember, if in doubt, order your stik an extra inch or two longer from your measurement UNLESS you are ordering a ferrule in which case you can not adjust unless you cut the ferrule off.
Stand on a level surface with the shoes you normally walk in, standing straight up and letting your arms hang free.
Have someone measure from the floor to the bend in your wrist of the hand you will use your stik with, then add one inch. You can also use a yardstick if no one is available to help.
That's the recommended overall length based upon the industry standard for your stik, top of metal top to bottom of rubber tip.
Keep in mind, some folks do prefer a little more bend in their arm and some not when applying weight/pressure on the stik. You will want to consider all factors when taking your measurement.
Your comfort is the most important issue here.
NOTES:
If you are considering adding a ferrule, please be sure and include a specific overall length (top of metal top to bottom of metal ferrule) as the ferrules will NOT be able to be removed.
If you are considering adding a rubber tip to the ferrule...it will increase the overall length by approx 1/2 inch.
If you are unsure about your measurement and are NOT installing a metal ferrule, add an extra inch or two. This way it can be cut to size... better to long than short. If the stik is to short then the shaft will have to be replaced.
Q:
What is the Janka Hardness Test?
A:
The Janka Hardness Test measures the force required to embed an 11.28 mm (.444 in) steel ball into wood to half the ball's diameter.
The lumber size ranges from 1" to 2" inches thick.
The common use of Janka hardness ratings is to determine the density/hardness of the particular species.
It was initial developed for testing whether a species is suitable for use as flooring.
Remember, the higher the value the more dense/hard that species is.

How long does it take to get my Order?
A:
StepinStik.com ships ALL orders via UPS or USPS 1 to 2 work days (Mon thru Fri) after order is received (excluding weekends, holidays and vacations).
Estimated delivery times are as follows:
All Custom Built Stik and Staf orders being delivered within the United States (and it's Territories) are typically delivered within 2-7 days from the date of shipment, depending on shipping location. This service also includes web notification for tracking.
All replacement parts and/or accessories ordered without a custom stik or staf will be shipped USPS Ground Advantage. These small packages are typically delivered in approximately 3-7 days within the United States (and it's territories) from the date of shipment.
International Stik orders are shipped Best Way and take an average of 6-10 days for delivery from the date of shipment. This service also includes web notification for tracking. Please contact BubbaSam for additional shipping charges. An invoice will be sent before shipment of your order.
Faster Deliveries are available as soon Next Day Air before 9:30am at additional costs. Please email your request after placing your order, An invoice will be sent before shipment of your order.
Standard delivery times are not guaranteed, however we have found over the last 21 years it's a pretty solid statement.
However periods during the holiday seasons or some force majeure issues can affect these delivery times.

Will you ship out of the U.S.A.?
A:ABSOLUTELY! We can, have and will ship out of the U.S.A.
As a matter of fact we have shipped to Australia, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Great Britain, India, Ireland, Korea, Malaysia, Mexico, just to name a few.
However, there are additional charges for international shipments.
Just contact BubbaSam via email, let him know what product you are interested in and he will reply with the estimated additional shipping costs.
If the additional cost is acceptable then just place your order and he will send an invoice via email that you can complete ASAP for the additional shipping fees.

Who is BubbaSam REALLY?
A:
BubbaSam built, owns and operates both StepinStik.com and BubbaStik.com (now merged together) which started in 2002.
He still continues to build and ship custom stiks, stafs as well as parts and accessories as he has for
going on 22
years.
He is now retired from a 'Day Job' but in the past 30 years, has owned a Microsoft Certified computer business & training center, worked as a web programmer,
a graphic designer, a purchaser for a large energy company over 4 states, the COO for a string of Oncology facilities and Medical Management Group and finally the
co-owner of a string of mobile and brick & mortar x-ray and ultrasound clinics.
He still maintains many multi-state company websites for both modifications and their registrar/hosting accounts.
I guess as they say... "No Rest For The Wicked" applies here!

Which Stiks are BubbaSam's favorite?
A:
I must say that's a tough one as they're ALL very nice.
However, I believe my favorites are the StepinStik Exotics.
This is not because the are the most expensive but because they are TRULY natural woods with such beautiful grains and come from around the world.
I very much like the Black Chrome tops (a StepinStik.com exclusive) with a War Eagle medallion and a 1/2" custom leather wrist strap with matching black chrome hardware.
There's just so many things to pick from and build.

Q:
I have seen BubbaStiks for less at different places. Why?
A:
The BubbaStik factory only ships bulk distribution, meaning a minimum of 12-24 stiks per order, no customization of any type and no accessories offered.
StepinStik.com takes great pride in building a stik or staf by individually inspecting, hand picking and custom building to YOUR specifications and finally packages your Stik using the highest quality packaging materials to prevent any possible damage during shipment to your requested destination.
Examples of some of the differences between the factory's bulk manufactured BubbaStiks and the ones offered on the website are items such as standard rubber tips instead of rubber with steel inserts to prevent puncturing.
Another item are the tops.
The factory tops are only offered in brass where the ones offered on the website are offered in 4 choices of brass or chrome, copper or black chrome plated brass (a StepinStik.com exclusive).
The only part of the BubbaStik components sold on the website are the red oak shafts (Janka hardness of 1,220) which are double stained and double poly'd for our website for a higher gloss and more colorful finish.
So... when you build EITHER a StepinStik or BubbaStik on the website you'll always get top quality components.

Q:
Which bottom tip is the best for you?
A:
It all depends on what you bought your Stik for.
The best all around tips are the HD Round or HD Flat Bottom rubber tips (both known as Neva-Slip) with a steel insert.
They are made of a harder compound rubber than standard rubber tips and have excellent traction.... thus wears a bit longer.
If you use your Stik for outside or spend a lot of time outside during the winter... then you may want to consider a steel ferrule with a removable rubber tip.
You have your choice of permanently installed steel (plated in different metals to match your top (ie: brass, copper or black chrome or nickel).
Or... you can choose the removable tip with the pivoting stainless steel spike. Then way when Spring comes you can replace it with your HD rubber tip.
If you decide on the permanent ferrule and want to also use it inside or on sidewalks, etc. then it is highly recommended that you add a HD ferrule rubber tip with steel insert.
This tip is for mild weight bearing.
However, you should at least purchase the floor protection tip to protect not only the tip but your floors when the stik is kept inside.
This tip is for "none to very little" weight bearing and is primarily used to protect your floors when storing your stik inside.
